Michael Bednar is an award-winning photographer recognized internationally for his travel and documentary work, which captures the spirit of people and places.

Michael worked for several years in natural resource management where he embraced his love of the outdoors. He now incorporates the knowledge he gained from that work into his photography. Upon graduating from The Western Academy of Photography Michael worked in the daily newspaper business gaining invaluable experience. Since then he has been freelancing; gathering and telling stories from around the globe for corporate and editorial clients.

Michael continues to explore and build a library of images from around the world focusing on landscape, wildlife and portraits that work to capture the often-profound relationships between people and their environment. He also teaches photography and digital storytelling to individuals and groups. Bednar has recently made the South Cariboo region of British Columbia his home and is now concentrating his photographic skills on producing work from this magnificent region.
